I could go on and on but you get the idea.
It's worth
repeating that your oriental rugs are exquisite
works of art
as well as valuable investments. To maintain
their beauty and enhance
their value, your oriental rugs should be cleaned
by someone
trained specifically in caring for your Oriental or
Persian rugs. And, for maximum
long-lasting benefit, this cleaning should be
done on a regular basis
This a cloud of dust coming out of the rug.
Most rugs look just like this when we dust
them. A special tool lifts the dry soil off the
rug using compressed air. This procedure has to
be done at our shop because it requires an
industrial size air compressor and gets dust
everywhere.
What's the big deal with dusting a rug
anyway?
Dusting
Just this...
Most (80-90%) of
the soil in a rug or carpet is in a
dry form. Some of it is powdery and
some of it is sharp like sand and grit
(particularly this time of year).
These particles scratch and cut the
rug's fibers every time you walk on
it. Vacuuming helps. But most rugs are
so dense that the vacuum just can't
get out a large portion of the dirt.
If you want to see what I mean, vacuum
your rug, then take it outside and hit
it with a broom handle. Just make sure
you're standing up wind!
I've
cleaned rugs for many years…just as
most carpet cleaners do. And for most
of that time I struggled with the fact
that I just couldn't get all the dirt
out. I tried as hard as I knew how,
but I just didn't have the technology.
I knew that most systems that did a
better job than I could were also hard
on the rug; they involved shaking or
beating the rug, often with machinery.
Then I found a system that employed
compressed air and a proprietary tool.
It is very gentle on the rug, yet
incredibly effective. I was so
impressed that I bought the system! I
like delivering the best possible job
to my clients and this system fits the
bill when it comes to rug cleaning.
